- If you are on a low income and any of the following apply: you are a lone parent, you are sick or disabled, you are aged 60 or over, you are caring for someone who is ill or disabled, you are registered blind:

check Child Benefit someone gets for you (this link will take you to the Jobcentre Plus website). - If you are aged between 16 and 19, undertaking a course that involves at least 12 hours a week guided learning, and your household income is less than £30,000 check Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA).
