Requesting an appeal

The letter that you receive with a review decision will tell you how you can appeal.

If you do not agree with the review decision made by the FAS Scheme Manager, you can appeal to the Pensions Protection Fund Ombudsman (PPFO) in writing within 2 months from the date that the review decision is made.

If you are not sure about making an appeal, you can contact the FAS Operational Unit (FAS OU) for more information.

Please note, you can check to see if the Pension Protection Ombudsman has received an appeal on your pension scheme by visiting the Notified and Qualifying Pension Scheme pages. If an appeal has been received by the Pension Protection Fund Ombudsman it will be highlighted by the addition of the letter "A" at the end of the scheme name.
